Changes to Civil Procedure in the Supreme, District & Local Courts
Uniform Civil Procedure Act 2005 and Uniform Civil Procedure Rules
The long awaited and much publicised Uniform Civil Procedure Rules will come into force in New South Wales on 15 August 2005. The Uniform Civil Procedure Rules project was implemented to consolidate, clarify and simplify civil procedure rules and processes across the New South Wales Supreme Court, District Court and Local Court. In particular, the object of the Rules is to unify the Court forms, practice and procedure in these Courts. Previously, civil practice and procedure varied across these jurisdictions.
